Lembram-se dos SUFFOCHATE? Pois é, ao fim de 3 anos de banda,decidimos alterar o nome para SURVIVE THE WASTELAND. Esta mudança de nome deve-se ao facto do nome antigo já não identificar a personalidade da banda e também pelo facto de criar alguns preconceitos e confusões por já existirem bandas com nomes semelhantes.
A banda aproveitou a mudança para visitar os SoundVision Studios em Vila do Conde para gravar o single "Bringing Back The Dead". Single esse que se tudo correr bem, em breve, será disponibilizado para download juntamente com algumas surpresas. It all began in 2007 when a group of friends created a band together and called it SUFFOCHATE. Since then and without changing any member, the band has recorded the single "W.A.R." at SC Studios in Matosinhos and in 2009 visited the SoundVision Studios located in Vila do Conde where had recorded the debut E.P. "No Mercy In His Eyes", produced by Paulo Lopes. The influences of SuffocHate are some the Death/Thrash metal bands with some progressive and modern details. We already played with some bands like: Dying Fetus(USA),Orphaned Land(Israel),Beneath The Massacre(CAN),Zeni Geva(JP),Defeated Sanity(GER),Putrid Pile(USA),Nesseria(FR),Cerebral Bore(UK),Men Eater(PT),Crushing Sun(PT),As My World Burns(ES),Before The Torn(PT),Inbred(SP),Legacy Of Brutality(SP),Ressurected(DE),Witchburner(DE),As They Burn(FR),Equaleft(PT),...
SURVIVE THE WASTELAND born at the end of 2010(Oct 30th).
Basically, we changed our name because the old name did not identify with the sound and personality of the band.Now we're more mature, introspective and heavy than ever.
In late summer of 2010, entered the studio again to record a new single called "Bringing Back The Dead" and now we are working on the album to be released in late 2011.
