WHITECHAPEL releases first single off of upcoming album 'A New Era of Corruption' Whitechapel
Knoxville, Tennessee's WHITECHAPEL have just released the new track 'The Darkest Day of Man,' off of the bands 3rd full-length release (second for Metal Blade), A New Era of Corruption due out June 8th. "The first single we have released from the new album A New Era of Corruption is titled 'The Darkest Day of Man'. We played it live during our overseas touring at the beginning of this year in Australia and the UK and were getting a great response from the crowd for it. I feel this song perfectly demonstrates how we have progressed as a band musically and in our song writing, but have not stepped away from our signature Whitechapel sound,” comments guitarist and founding member Alex Wade.

Artwork for A New Era of Corruption was handled by Brent Elliot White who has also worked with bands such as Job for a Cowboy and Carnifex. A New Era of Corruption features guest vocals from Vincent of The Acacia Strain ('Murder Sermon') and Chino from the Deftones ('Reprogrammed to Hate'), and features 11 new tracks with a bonus track available to those purchasing the album through iTunes or on vinyl.

Whitechapel stands out in today's overcrowded metal scene due in part to their ability to fuse memorable and even groovy riffs with crushing breakdowns, tremolo picking at neck breaking speeds, and incredibly evil and dissonant sounds. Their songs demand repeated listens and gang vocals at shows are common place. This is Exile, the band's Metal Blade debut, was unleashed on July 8th, 2008, and debuted at #118 on the Billboard top 200 charts, #2 on Billboard's Top Heatseekers, and #14 on Billboard's Top Independent albums. An accomplishment that is impressive for veteran artists, much less a relatively brand new metal act.

    Whitechapel is:
    Phil Bozeman - Vocals
    Alex Wade - Guitar
    Ben Savage - Guitar
    Zach Householder - Guitar
    Gabe Crisp - Bass
    Kevin Lane - Drums
